Client Alert: EEOC Issues Final Regulations on Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act

November 22, 2010
Client Alert (on pp. 3-4)

Monday, November 22, 2010

On November 9, 2010, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued final Regulations on Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA). This section of GINA covers private employers with fifteen or more employees, and prohibits the use of genetic information in employment, restricts employers from requesting, requiring or purchasing genetic information and strictly limits the disclosure of genetic information.

The Wyrick Robbins Labor and Employment practice group has issued a brief Client Alert on these final Regulations. The Alert is included in the Fall 2010 issue of the group's quarterly newsletterThe Resource: A Legal Newsletter for Employers & Human Resource Professionals.
