Wyrick Robbins attorney Jim Cobb has been asked to serve as legal counsel for the Friends of the Mountain-to-Sea Trail (FMST). The FMST is a nonprofit organization that has worked with federal, state and local agencies and private landowners for more than 10 years to build a 940-mile public hiking trail through the State of North Carolina, from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean. Over half of the trail has been completed and is open to hiking. The FMST helps coordinate the design, building and maintenance of the trail. When finished, the Mountain-to-Sea Trail will extend from Clingmans Dome, rising over 6,500 feet in western North Carolina, through 37 counties, three national parks, two national wildlife refuges, two national wilderness areas, and numerous national forests and state parks, on its way to the dunes of Jockey’s Ridge State Park on the Outer Banks.
