Bio

Brian is the leader of the firm’s Investment Funds practice group. He regularly advises a diverse client base on a wide variety of private fund investments and co-investments.  His clients range from large institutional investors, including prominent, international asset managers and major insurance companies, to family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Brian’s practice covers the full spectrum of private fund investments, including venture capital, private equity, infrastructure, credit, rated feeder, evergreen, and continuation funds. His co-investment experience is extensive and spans all industries and sectors, including healthcare and biotechnology, fintech, energy transition and infrastructure, AI, information technology and cybersecurity, manufacturing and logistics, consumer goods, and aviation and transportation. Brian also advises private companies (and their investors) and private investment funds in matters ranging from initial formation and general corporate and regulatory matters to financings and mergers & acquisitions.

Brian earned his law degree with high honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the Order of the Coif. He was a published member of the North Carolina Law Review and later served as the Publication Editor. Before law school, Brian spent two years working for a major international accounting firm in New York City. Brian graduated with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Psychology.
