This edition addresses some recent developments and open issues involving the Family and Medical Leave Act. First, the attorneys summarize the amendment to the FMLA which permits job leave to military families in certain circumstances (see also our February client alert). The second part of the newsletter discusses revisions to the FMLA recently proposed by the Department of Labor intended to make the law more clear. Finally, recent court cases are examined in which an employee’s responsibility to give an employer sufficient notice for FMLA leave was at issue.
