Bio
David is a leader in the firm’s Investment Funds, Private Equity, and Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice groups.
David heads a team of corporate attorneys who, together with tax, ERISA and other specialists, advise the firm’s institutional investor clients on all aspects of their investments in and alongside private equity, venture capital, and other private investment funds. These clients include asset managers, funds-of-funds, insurance companies, family offices, and corporate/strategic investors. David and his team regularly represent these clients in connection with their capital commitments to private funds, as well as with co-investments, secondary transactions, continuation funds, and separately managed accounts.
He also regularly represents emerging growth companies in a variety of transactions, from organization/start-up to securities offerings, licensing and other strategic transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
David received his law degree from Stanford Law School and served as an Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. David began his career in the Silicon Valley office of Cooley.
