Katie E. Smith

Bio

Katie is a member of the firm’s Investment Funds practice group.

Katie received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a staff editor for the Journal of International Law and Politics. Prior to attending law school, Katie received her B.A. in political science, cum laude, from Barnard College.

Prior to joining the firm she practiced in various corporate groups of an international law firm, primarily in private funds and fund finance, and later practiced in-house as an assistant general counsel for the New York City Housing Development Corporation.

Investment Funds

The Investment Funds practice group is an interdisciplinary team of attorneys who focus on formation and management of private investment funds, and representation of fund sponsors, managers, advisers, and investors. We provide legal counsel in all relevant areas, including fund structure, tax planning, securities laws, internal ownership and control, regulatory, and other legal matters.
