Kiran is a member of the firm’s Privacy & Data Security practice group. She focuses her practice on matters including preparation of privacy policies and notices, data breach notification, data security incident response, and compliance with federal, state, and foreign privacy and data security laws and regulations. She has experience with a variety of privacy and data security laws such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), and other state and federal laws regulating the collection, storage, use, sharing, and protection of personal information. Kiran also holds a CIPP/US certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Kiran received her J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science and Dance from the George Washington University. During law school, Kiran served as the Senior Symposium Editor for the American University Law Review. Before joining the firm, Kiran practiced civil litigation at a firm in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kiran is admitted to practice in North Carolina, Missouri, and Illinois.
