Bio

Mike serves as the firm’s Director of Talent and is an attorney in the firm’s Commercial Real Estate and Corporate practice areas.

Mike’s practice focuses on commercial real estate, mergers & acquisitions, and general corporate and business matters. Mike has experience advising companies in a broad range of real estate development, corporate, and commercial transactions as well as serving as outside general counsel to companies. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as a “Rising Star” in business and corporate law and by Best Lawyers® as “One to Watch” in both real estate and mergers & acquisitions. He was also named to Business North Carolina’s 2023 Legal Elite List.

As Director of Talent, Mike leads the firm’s attorney recruiting, professional development, and diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives.

Mike earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was the Symposium Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology and a member of the Holderness Moot Court National Negotiation team. He studied sociology and economics at Davidson College, where he was the captain of the Davidson baseball team and earned his B.A., cum laude.

We take pride in working closely with our clients at every stage of the process, from pre-transaction preparation and deal structuring in order to maximize value and minimize risk, through due diligence, to drafting and negotiating definitive agreements, and ultimately to closing and post-closing advice.
