Bio

Susan is a seasoned commercial real estate attorney, licensed to practice in North Carolina and in Georgia. She assists clients in meeting their real estate goals at each stage of the real estate life cycle, including acquisitions, financing, leasing and dispositions. She is well versed in the real estate aspects of mergers, sales and acquisitions for companies and has experience in multi-state, multiple property transactions, as well as single site developments. Susan represents landlords and tenants as well as purchasers and sellers, with particular experience representing managers/servicers of large portfolios of properties.

Susan began her legal career as an associate with King & Spalding, LLP in Atlanta and later became a capital partner with Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP, also in Atlanta. She worked as the sole in-house real estate counsel and a Director of Real Estate for HD Supply Holdings providing legal guidance for the company with a portfolio at times of 1,200 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Susan served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia for 10 years and was Chair of the Committee during the 2008-09 real estate crisis.

Susan is a native of North Carolina and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in English. She earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law where she was Associate Editor of the Villanova Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
