Tammey Khan
Tammey Khan represents and counsels clients on various employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Her practice covers everything from offering day-to-day employment advice and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, to representing employers in the defense and prosecution of various employment-related claims at all stages of litigation, including as they relate to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, leave and accommodation, wage and hour claims, and other employment-related issues.
Tammey has extensive experience representing employers in court and before administrative agencies including the EEOC and Department of Labor. She is admitted to practice before all federal and state courts in North Carolina, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Tammey zealously advocates for her clients, and has obtained numerous favorable outcomes both in and out of court.
Tammey also frequently drafts and counsels clients on employment-related agreements and policies, including executive employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and personnel policies. Tammey’s clients span a wide range of industries, and range from startups to multinational companies.
Tammey received her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During her time in law school, Tammey served as a Staff Editor on the International Law Journal, Co-Chair of the Holderness Moot Court, research assistant to her Contracts law Professor, and a competing member of the Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team. Tammey also devoted over 100 hours of her time to performing pro bono legal work in her community.
Prior to joining Wyrick, Tammey clerked for Judge John Arrowood at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Following her year-long clerkship, Tammey developed a passion for all things employment after she joined a respected civil litigation firm which specialized in labor and employment law.
Outside of work, Tammey enjoys traveling, yoga, reading, amateur interior design, and spending time with her family.
