Wyrick Robbins is pleased to announce that corporate partner Alex Wilson was recently appointed by Governor Roy Cooper to the North Carolina State Banking Commission. The State Banking Commission supervises, directs, and reviews the activities of the Office of the Commissioner of Banks under the North Carolina Banking Laws. Alex joins the Commission, comprised of the State Treasurer and 13 other appointed members, with the mission to promote and maintain the strength and fairness of the North Carolina financial services marketplace through supervision and regulation of the financial service providers within the market.
“I am honored to have been selected by Governor Cooper to serve North Carolina’s citizens on the North Carolina State Banking Commission,” says Wilson. “I look forward to working with the other Commissioners to ensure that all North Carolinians can benefit from a fair, secure, and vibrant financial services marketplace.”
Alex was previously appointed by Governor Cooper in 2017 as Commissioner of the USS North Carolina Battleship Commission, an 18 person commission tasked with oversight of the administration and operation of the USS NORTH CAROLINA as a permanent memorial and exhibit for the state’s World War II veterans.
