The federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the “granddaddy” of all employment laws, provides important protections to workers in terms of their pay and hours worked. The law also presents challenges to employers in their understanding of the many regulations and court cases interpreting the FLSA since its enactment in 1938 and how those rulings apply to the modern workforce.
