Press Releases

RALEIGH, NC — Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP announced today that effective March 1, 2013, the members of the financial institutions law firm of Gaeta & Eveson, P.A. will be joining Wyrick Robbins in an expansion of its capital markets/M&A practice. Gaeta & Eveson, P.A., long recognized for its leadership in providing legal expertise to the financial services industry in North Carolina, was formed in 1999. Its four lawyers practice in all aspects of legal service to financial institutions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, regulatory matters and counseling directors in the exercise of their fiduciary duties. The firm has represented banks throughout North Carolina. Todd Eveson has been named as the Practice Group Leader for Banking and Financial Institutions at Wyrick Robbins. Tony Gaeta will serve as “Of Counsel” to Wyrick Robbins and continue his involvement in the legal affairs of community financial institutions, including teaching for the North Carolina Bankers Association and serving as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the UNC School of Law in Chapel Hill.

Jimmy Yates, Managing Partner of Wyrick Robbins, commented, “We have great respect for Gaeta & Eveson’s experience and expertise in representing financial institutions, and have admired their integral involvement in the growth of community banks in North Carolina. We are very pleased the Gaeta & Eveson team has decided to join us. Their regulatory, capital formations and M&A expertise will provide additional depth to our capital markets/M&A practice, particularly with financial institutions. Plus, they are simply great people, and that is equally important to us.”

Tony Gaeta and Todd Eveson both commented that the move to Wyrick Robbins will enhance and expand their current capabilities to represent all sizes and facets of a financial institution’s business model. “With enhanced regulatory oversight at the federal level and the increasing consolidation of the banking industry, coupled with the interest margin compression being experienced by many community financial institutions, our affiliation with Wyrick Robbins will enable us to provide greater depth and breadth of legal services to our clients statewide,” commented Tony Gaeta. Todd Eveson noted: “With our combined team of lawyers, we will continue to serve our many long-standing financial institution clients. With the strength and capabilities of our combined firms, we are looking forward to expanding our presence both in North Carolina and the Southeast.”
