In early December 2016, we published a Client Alert on a decision by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia requiring the Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”) to eliminate the current backlog of Medicare payment appeals within a prescribed timetable.  This Client Alert Update, authored by attorneys in the Wyrick Robbins Healthcare and Commercial Litigation practice groups, addresses a January 2017 order by that court in which it denied HHS’s request to reconsider the schedule imposed.
